Introduction

The Institutional Human Ethics Committee (IHEC) of the Central University of Haryana has been provisionally registered with the National Ethics Committee Registry for Biomedical and Health Research (NECRBHR), Department of Health Research (DHR), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India vide File No. - EC/NEW/INST/2025/5259 dated 22-07-2026.

The purpose of this committee is consideration of proposals submitted by faculty members/PIs/Research Scholars requiring Ethical clearance as per the guidelines. For submitting a proposal involving human interventions, the faculty members/PIs/Research Scholars must have the adequate knowledge about the SOPs of IHEC of CUH in which a detailed procedure including flowcharts and application formats are mentioned which in turn will definitely help the researchers to easily download the proposal application formats.

Objectives of IHEC

Central University of Haryana, through its IHEC Cell, intends to build a robust IP ecosystem in the University to support and encourage new inventions, innovations, and creativity, while ensuring complete protection of the rights and welfare of human participants in biomedical, health, behavioural and experimental research.

• To undertake systematic search and identification of research activities involving human participants generated through research, education, and other academic endeavours.
• To encourage and raise awareness among the teaching and research community regarding ethical principles and human participant protections.
• To ensure that ethical guidelines remain relevant and in line with current trends, regulations, and ICMR standards.
• To protect the legitimate rights and benefits of the University, faculty, scholars, students, and human research participants.
• To establish a transparent administrative system to oversee the ethical clearance procedures and proposal evaluations.
